Collins Introduces Bill Intended to Stop Job Outsourcing

9th District U.S. Representative Doug Collins is re-introducing a bill that he said is meant to stop the outsourcing of American jobs.

Collins said this legislation would stop employers from abusing temporary visas given to them by the H-1B program.

According to Collins, the H-1B program allows American businesses to hire foreign professionals if American workers can’t fill the jobs. The foreign professionals must be experts in fields such as science and technology, and usually have college degrees.

Collins’ bill would stop employers from using those visas to train workers in the U.S. and then move jobs to other countries.

He said that the law shouldn’t be exploited to displace American workers and send their jobs abroad.

Collins is supported by Democratic Representative Derek Kilmer of Washington state, who said that American policies should promote jobs in America.

According to Collins, protecting American jobs is crucial for the economy to continue gaining strength and momentum. He said that The Keeping American Jobs Act protects American workers by preventing bad actors from abusing the system.
