9th District U.S. Representative Doug Collins said he has signed on as a co-sponsor of a House Resolution that would eliminate the 2013 statuary pay adjustment for federal employees enacted by the President.

The legislation, known as House Resolution 273, would be a continuation of the Congressional Pay Freeze and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2012. Collins voiced his support of the original legislation last month before taking office.

In a press release, Collins called it an absolute shock that President Obama would enlist the help of an Executive Order to increase paychecks for members of Congress, adding he hopes the legislation comes to a vote as quickly as possible.
