Clayton Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking

In Rabun County, a Clayton man is behind bars charged with drug trafficking.

On Monday, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, Clayton Police Department, and agents with the Appalachian  Regional Drug Enforcement Office arrested 54-year-old Tracy Louis Williams of Clayton.

ARDEO spokesman Mitchell Posey told WNEG News that a two-month undercover investigation led to a search warrant on Williams’ residence where the drugs were allegedly located. 

Williams was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Ecstasy (MDMA), Possession with Intent to distribute Marijuana, and Possession with Intent to distribute a Counterfeit Controlled Substance. 

The investigation was conducted by ARDEO and the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office over the past two months. 

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $6380.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of Sheriff’s Offices in eight Northeast Georgia counties, including Rabun, Stephens, Banks, Habersham and Franklin Counties; along with the Cleveland, Clayton, and Lavonia Police Departments, the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
