Civil Trial Underway in Stephens Co.

A major civil trial is underway this week in Stephens County Superior Court.

The trial involves Stephens County residents Sallie Grant and Willie Grant, who have filed a civil action against Toccoa Clinic Medical Associates, LLC and Gordon M. Kelly, M.D.

According to court documents related to the suit, it involves allegations of medical malpractice against the defendants by Mr. and Mrs. Grant.

The allegations are related to a medical procedure that occurred in 2011.

Jury selection began on Monday.

The trial is expected to last through the week.
