Toccoa opens bids on two different items.
During Monday’s city commission meeting, commissioners opened bids on both a pipe inspection camera and renovations to the Doyle Street Fire Department Office and Living Quarters.
The city received one bid on the pipe inspection camera.
That bid came from P & H Supply Co. of Warrentown, Georgia for just under $15,000. Commissioners voted unanimously to accept that bid.
According to Toccoa Utilities Director Harry Scott, the city uses the camera to identify and locate sewer blockages and other inflow and infiltration issues in the system.
Meanwhile, the city received three bids on the fire department living quarters and office renovations ranging from $38,000 to $52,000.
City commissioners voted unanimously to remand those bids to staff for further review and a recommendation.
Toccoa city officials said that SPLOST funds would be used to pay for both the camera and the renovations.
