City Commission Approves Rules and Regulations for Cemetery

The Toccoa City Commission approved the adoption of rules and regulations for the Toccoa City Cemetery last night during their meeting.

The commission appointed a Cemetery Committee to put together these rules and regulations and were presented with the committee’s suggestions at their last work session.

Vice Mayor David Austin complimented the committee on the set of guidelines that they put together.

“Just to say, they did a marvelous job,” said Austin. “That was a task to do and they did a wonderful job. I just want to thank all of them for their input.”

Some of the other recommendations made by the Cemetery Committee included a booklet to be published for present and future lot owners that would include all the rules and regulations they need to know regarding the cemetery. They also suggested a number of other improvements for the cemetery, including finishing the Veterans Memorial, addition of benches in the newer section and all entrance gates to be closed at night and more.
