The Stephens County Indians and Lady Indians returned from Thanksgiving break with a pair of losses on the road at Chestatee on Tuesday night.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Indians lost to the Lady War Eagles 52-40.
Stephens County trailed by only six at the half, but Chestatee pulled away in the second half behind 11 three-pointers.
Mya Cleveland led the Lady Indians with 11 points and Audresha Merritt had 10 points.
In the boys’ game, the Indians kept it close early but Chestatee used a big second quarter to win 73-49 over Stephens County.
Chestatee hit 8 three-pointers in the boys’ game and all but one player scored for the War Eagles.
Tay Jones led Stephens County with 17 points and Isaiah Mighell added 10.
The games did not count in the region standings.
On the season, the Lady Indians are 2-1 and the Indian boys are 1-2.
Both Stephens County basketball teams return to action on Friday night on the road at Hart County.
