CCRPI Scores Released

Stephens County has its College and Career Ready Performance Index scores from the state.

The Georgia Department of Education recently released the fourth CCRPI Index, which is based on data from the 2014-2015 school year.

In Stephens County, Stephens County High School had a CCRPI score of 68.2; Stephens County Middle School scored a 84.2; and the county’s elementary schools combined to score a 73.5.

Among the county’s elementary schools, Big A’s CCRPI was 70.5; Toccoa scored a 74.5; Eastanollee scored a 77; and Liberty scored a 70.7.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, the average score for Georgia’s elementary schools was 76, with a score of 71.2 for middle schools, 75.8 for high schools, and an overall statewide score of 75.5.

The CCRPI is Georgia’s statewide accountability system, implemented in 2012 to replace No Child Left Behind’s Adequate Yearly Progress measurement, after the U.S. Department of Education granted Georgia’s waiver from NCLB.

It measures schools and school districts on a 100-point scale based on multiple indicators of performance, helping parents and the public better understand how schools are performing in a more comprehensive manner than the pass/fail system previously in place under AYP.

The Georgia Department of Education said, however, that because of changes to the way CCRPI is calculated – including but not limited to a new assessment system, changes in weights, and recalculated performance targets – a direct comparison between 2014 and 2015 CCRPI scores is not possible.
