CASA Opens New Office

The Northeast Georgia CASA program opens its new office.

Last week, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new office space.

Northeast Georgia CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, provides volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children in foster care across their eight-county service area of Stephens, Rabun, Habersham, Elbert, Franklin, Hart, Madison and Oglethorpe counties.

Executive Director Melissa Mitchell says that CASA is extremely thankful for all the individuals and businesses that made the new office space a reality.

A number of people were specifically recognized at the Ribbon Cutting and Open House.

They include Marilyn and Patrick Hall for their hard work, commitment, and flexibility, Gary Bellamy for his hard work and assistance, Jay Quick and Quick Technologies for long-time assistance, in many ways, with the CASA computer network, and TruVista Corportation for its extremely generous sponsorship and partnership with CASA.

Anyone who would like more information about getting involved with CASA as a volunteer can contact the Northeast Georgia CASA office at 706-886-1098.
