A North Georgia Tech official is honored for completing state-level training.
North Georgia Technical College Vice President for Administration Carol Carson was recently recognized for completing the Technical College System of Georgia Administrative Services Executive Academy.
Carson was presented with a certificate of completion for demonstrating professional education and commitment to their profession by Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson and other top TCSG officials at the recent Vice Presidents of Administrative Services meeting in Atlanta.
The TCSG Administrative Services Executive Academy was established in 2013 to provide college business officers training in four 8-hour sessions that encompass all the areas involved in the Administrative Services departments of the Technical Colleges.
Such training topics included financial accounting and budgeting management, Peoplesoft accounting software, human resources, various reports to state and national offices, insurance, business office functions, and others.
Only 30 individuals were recognized for completing the ExecutiveAcademy in 2013.
TCSG Assistant Commissioner Lisa Eason said this is the very first time that the TechnicalCollege system has ever done this, and it is very important internal training for the TCSG’s upper level accounting staffs.
North Georgia Technical College President Dr. Gail Thaxton also congratulated Ms. Carson on her completion of the Administrative Services Executive Academy, adding that she is an asset to the school and it is very fortunate to have her as part of the team.
