Calmer Weather Day Today

The weather is much calmer this morning after a busy end to the week thanks to the winter storm that moved through the region before heading up the East Coast.

Thursday night into Friday morning, downtown Toccoa received 1.46 inches of rain.

Then during the day on Friday, that rain mixed with sleet during the daytime hours.

Late in the day on Friday, snow began to fall across the region and accumulate.

In downtown Toccoa, 1.5 inches of snow was measured.

However, more snow and sleet fell just to the north and west, in Habersham County and especially in Rabun County.
