Busy Holiday Weekend in Toccoa

Toccoa wraps up a busy Christmas weekend.

This past weekend, Stephens County played host to a number of Christmas activities.

First on Friday night, it was the annual Christmas Fest in downtown Toccoa.

Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said that this year’s Christmas Fest was very successful.

“We had a great crowd and that is what really makes an event successful, when you have people show up and participate,” said Crosby. “We had a great time with the ice skating rink and we had a great time with the Festival of Trees. We have over 600 people come and see the trees. We had a great turnout for the Sage Market and Santa’s line is always long. The weather was beautiful. It went very, very well.”

Then on Saturday, the Toccoa Woman’s Club put on this year’s Toccoa Christmas Parade.

The theme for this year’s parade was “Winter Wonderland” and it included a number of floats, the Stephens County High School and Stephens County Middle School marching bands, and of course, Santa.

Winners have not yet been announced by the Toccoa Woman’s Club.

Finally, everything wrapped up on Sunday with the Toccoa Symphony’s annual Christmas Concert.
