Burglary Investigation Results in Two Arrests

An investigation into a Stephens County burglary leads to two arrests.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, deputies responded to an East Silver Shoals Road residence on October 7 in regards to a burglary.

“He had removed guns and jewelry, as well as coins,” said Shirley.

Shirley said that the person that filed the report gave authorities a name they suspected in committing the offense.

The sheriff said that an investigator then learned upon finding one of the stolen firearms at a local pawnshop that the person the victim suspected had pawned the firearm the day before.

According to the sheriff, investigators used that information to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and an arrest warrant for him.

He said upon execution of the search warrant, deputies located 19-year-old Tyler Paul Williams of Pinetree Road in Toccoa and charged him with Burglary in the First Degree.

Shirley said after conducting a search of the residence, deputies located a quantity of marijuana inside.

The sheriff said 23-year-old Michael Lee Hester of Pinetree Road in Toccoa was charged with Possession of Marijuana-Less Than One Ounce.

At last report, Williams was being held on a $20,000 bond, while Hester was released on a $1,000 bond.
