The town of Martin is honoring a long-time city employee.
Martin has declared today as Bob Stovall Day in the town.
Stovall is the clerk for the town of Martin.
Mayor Don Foster said, however, that Stovall handles a lot of other responsibilities.
“Bob has been in charge of the water department ever since he has been here,” said Foster. “He is also the main man in town. He is a big supporter of our Christmas lights every year. He wants them put up just right.”
Foster went on to say that the town appreciates Stovall for everything he does for the town of Martin.
“He gives a lot of his free time,” said Foster. “He goes out of his way to do anything for anyone in the town that he possibly can. He is a big part of what goes on in Martin all the time.”
The town council and Mayor Foster have issued a proclamation officially declaring today as Bob Stovall Day in the town of Martin.
In the proclamation, the town states that it wishes to thank Stovall for his time, dedication, and hard work that he has so generously given over his many years of service.
Stovall has been the clerk for the town of Martin for nearly 20 years, starting in June 1994.
Before working as town clerk, Stovall worked for the federal government.
He is married to Sandi Stovall and has three sons.
