Austin Qualifies for Re-election to Toccoa Commission

All incumbents have now qualified for re-election to their posts to the Toccoa City Commission.

David Austin qualified Wednesday to run for re-election to his Post 2 seat.

Previously, Terry Carter qualified to run for re-election to his Post 1 seat and Gail Fry qualified to run for re-election to her Post 4 seat.

There are currently no challengers for any of the seats on the Toccoa City Commission.

It is also all incumbents only in qualifying for the Martin City Council.

Don Foster has qualified to run for re-election as Mayor, while Mark Gearhart and Harold Alexander have both qualified for re-election as council members in Martin.

Qualifying for both the Toccoa and Martin municipal elections continues through Friday at 4:30 p.m.

In Toccoa, candidates wishing to qualify for one of the three seats up for election this year should see Toccoa City Clerk Fredda Wheeler at Toccoa City Hall.

The qualifying fee is $252.

For Martin, qualifying is at the Stephens County Probate and Registrar’s Office, located in Room 108 downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.

The qualifying fee for mayor is $120 and the qualifying fee for council member is $90.
