Asheville Woman Arrested Under Drug Charges

An Asheville, North Carolina woman is behind bars in Rabun County, charged with drug possession.

On Saturday, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, Dillard Police Department, Sky Valley Police Department and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed a search warrant at the Gateway Inn and Suites in Dillard, Georgia.

ARDEO spokesman Mithell Posey told WNEG News that numerous complaints to management of heavy traffic led to the search warrant and arrest of 24-year-old Keisha Le’shay Moore.

Rabun County authorities found methamphetamine, a stolen hand gun and scales in the hotel room. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $300.

Posey said the arrest was a collaborative effort between Rabun County authorities and the management at Gateway Inn and Suites to rid Rabun County of illegal narcotics.

Moore was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV narcotic (Clonazepam), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of drug related objects.

She was taken to the Rabun County Detention Center.

ARDEO encourages citizens to report any suspicious drug activity at 706-348-7410 or contact your local Sheriff’s Office or Police Department.
