A month long search for armed robbery suspect Rico Marshall ended Tuesday in Stephens County after a high-speed chase.
Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says Marshall was arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Franklin County.
“Last month he was charged allegedly with holding up an individual in the Gum Log community of Franklin County. He’s also wanted in connection with a burglary of a high powered assault rifle and that was used in the robbery in Franklin County.”
Shirley says Marshall is also a person of interest in several Stephens County incidents.
“There are other crimes that we believe he is connected to that we hope to bring to a conclusion after the interviews today. As you know, we have had several home invasions in the last few months and they are prime suspects.”
A female accomplice was also apprehended after the chase.
“They were in a stolen truck and, after a high speed pursuit, we were able to capture them on the Rock Quarry Circle.”
Following questioning in Stephens County, Rico Marshall will be turned over to Franklin County authorities.
“I just wanted to let the citizens of this community be at ease that we have captured him, and we have notified Franklin County authorities that we do have him in custody.”
