Annual People First Fishing Event Successful, Say Organizers

Organizers said it was another successful year for the People First of Stephens County fishing tournament.

This year’s tournament took place this past Saturday at a pond owned by Jim Rhoades on North Avenue in Eastanollee.

This marked the 16th year for the event.

People First of Stephens County Supporter Jeraldine Hayes said that Saturday’s event may have been one of the best ones they have had yet.

“We had great participation from individuals with disabilities that fished and caught tons of fish,” said Hayes. “We had great supporters financially and there were businesses and individuals that donated enough gifts for everybody out there to get gifts and there were some left.”

Hayes went on to say that People First appreciates all of the people who help support the tournament each year.

She said it was great to see people out there enjoying themselves and supporting one another.

People First of Stephens County is an organization that involves people with disabilities.
