American Woodmark Makes Donation to NGTC

May 2, 2013

A local industry makes a donation to North Georgia Technical College.

The North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received a contribution of $1000 for student scholarships from American Woodmark in Toccoa.

American Woodmark Corporation manufactures and distributes kitchen and bath cabinets for the remodeling and new home construction markets.

The North Georgia Technical College Foundation was created in 2000 to enhance educational opportunities at the school. According to the school, the Foundation accepts charitable tax deductible donations including gifts, pledges, and planned gifts as well as items such as automobiles, boats, equipment, and real estate.

North Georgia Technical College Foundation Director Cynthia Brown calls the donation a wonderful contribution towards student success. She adds that foundation scholarships make a difference in whether students have the opportunity to receive an education, graduate, and go to work.

Brown says that last year, the Foundation awarded 236 scholarships to students with financial need.
