Agreement Reached Between Blue Cross, NGHS

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and Northeast Georgia Health System say they have a new agreement in place.

Both sides say the new, multi-year agreement, which was announced earlier this week and took effect on October 1, will allow patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia health insurance to continue to receive in-network access to the health system’s facilities and employed physicians.

Terms of the contract do not allow for the contract details to be disclosed.

The two parties had been negotiating since January to secure a new agreement that would cover services provided at Northeast Georgia Health System facilities and by the physicians of the Northeast Georgia Physicians group and the Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Officials for both sides say the new contract covers all Northeast Georgia Health System facilities and employed physicians.

That includes Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, the Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Urgent Care, the Imaging Center, the Rehabilitation Institute, the Toccoa Cancer Center, and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
