Just six and a half months in, 2013 is already a wetter year in Toccoa than 2012 was.

Weekend rains pushed this year’s rainfall totals past the total rainfall mark for all of last year.

Rains Saturday and Sunday pushed downtown Toccoa’s year-to-date precipitation to 50.78 inches.

That is already more than the 50.05 inches of rain that downtown Toccoa had for all of last year.

This year is also well on the way to being the wettest year in downtown Toccoa since 2009.

This year’s total rainfall has already passed 2011’s total of 46.43 inches and is fast approaching the 2010 total of 53.25 inches of precipitation.

This year’s total still has a way to go to catch up to 2009, when downtown Toccoa received 86.10 inches of precipitation over 12 months.
